"Listen Up!" - RELIX MAGAZINE

Blending elements of roots-rock, groove, backbeat and Americana, The Casual Fiasco have been turning heads down the east coast with their shirt-soaking live shows and unique songwriting. The Burlington, VT based quartet of twentysomethings logged an eye-popping 180 shows in 2006, shared the stage with North Mississippi Allstars, Tea Leaf Green, Cat Empire, State Radio and the Slip, and headlined venues that include Higher Ground Ballroom (VT) and the Knitting Factory Main Space (NYC).

Live sets transition seamlessly from foot-stomping rock to breezy backbeat, flush with three part harmonies, dynamic changes and melodic overtones. "It is perfectly without a genre or a label," writes one reviewer, and while often drawing comparisons to the Police, Paul Simon and moe., the band describes the sound as "energetic roots-rock with a twist."

2007 is off to a blistering start, with a massive east coast club tour and slots at SNOE.DOWN in March and Sterling Stage Folk Fest in May. A college favorite, the band has performed at dozens of schools from Maine to Florida and was featured in the November 06 issue of Campus Activites Magazine. The boys have been on bills with acts as diverse as North Mississippi Allstars, moe., Disco Biscuits, Tea Leaf Green, Little Feat, Toots and the Maytals, the Slip, Grace Potter, Big Wu, Addison Groove Project, Cat Empire, State Radio and Zox.

In December 05 The Casual Fiasco released Body Over Mind with Grammy nominated producer Jack Gauthier (Dispatch, David Grisman). A showcase for the Fiasco's evolving sound, the EP features several tunes that have become concert staples for the band. In March 06 Body Over Mind was added to rotation on 150+ college radio stations across the country.

PRESS:
"One of Burlington's 5 bands to see." --Burlington Free Press

"Like a good pair of patchwork pants, the Fiasco seamlessly blends mountain and island music with quirky narratives and British invasion harmonies to create a unified sound that is truly unique and utterly cohesive... The Fiasco's sound is rooted in the crafting of their songs, deeply hearted in late seventies and early eighties rock and roll..." --Campus Activities Magazine

"This EP reminds us of what makes The Casual Fiasco so great. It's the music. It takes a special band to actually take the jam band sound to a new level and succeed in the world. Phish did it! Dave Matthews Band did it! The Casual Fiasco? They can do it. The sound that we could be hearing in big theaters and arenas all over the country." --thisISmodern.net

"The group's tasty blend of rock and reggae has found a wider following throughout the Northeast. The arrangements on Body Over Mind manage to give every band member a chance to shine, and sometimes the songs take unexpected turns from head-on rock into laid-back reggae... The result is a pleasant blend with a little bit for everyone, including those who love it when music just plain makes them feel good." --Press and Sun Bulletin

"The Casual Fiasco's upbeat, ska-infused rock is designed to put a smile on your face. Combining the open-ended vibe of groove music with the solid hooks of pop, the Burlington-based band bridges the gap between Sublime and Paul Simon. Throw in a little exploratory jamming and you've got a recipe for laid-back good times." --Seven Days
